Texas Opens Up - Too Soon?

May 21, 2020 by F. Carter Smith in Houston

The threat of Covid-19 remains as Texas begins to open up some businesses, and citizens flock to parks like there’s no tomorrow. I’m keeping my distance.

This week, Houston got it own drive-in theater in Sawyer Yards, screening films on the old rice silo, neighboring Buff Brew. A Catholic Church opened and is now closed again after a clergyman died and 5 more of the staff became infected. Restaurants and Hair Salons expanded their capacity. I do need a haircut.

This weekend is Memorial Day. Let’s remember the heroes of all our battles. Stay safe and in another month, maybe they’ll be some live sports to watch.
